This was one of the best meals we had in Provence. I am still dreaming about that delicate zucchini and vegetable tart, which was hands down the best starter I had during my 17 day trip. Entrees were solid as well. We had a unique smelt risotto balanced with fresh vegetables, and chicken which was perfectly cooked. Their desserts shine. Based around the fresh fruits of Provence like apricot and peaches, soft whipped cream, coconut and not too sweet. The flavors of the fruit really shone.

In terms of service, it was a mixed bag. Some servers are just doing their job and nothing more but there was one young male employee that went above and beyond with hospitality. I wish I got his name.

The surroundings are beautiful , lit with lights and greenery. However, bring some mosquito spray because we got bit quite a bit! (Not a fault of the restaurant). I will 100% return next time I'm in Provence. Reservations required.

Pleasant atmosphere in the gardens enjoying a nice cocktail before our dinner. The people were extremely nice although we could feel some tension amongst the staff. The food was exquisite as you can see on the pictures. It is however a bit on the expensive side compared to other tables we have experienced in the region with as high a menu. We will come back again.

Had the most wonderful stay here last week. Wish only I could have extended it longer. Romain and Noemie are the perfect hosts, and it’s so refreshing to stay somewhere where the owners are on hand - no demand was too far. The attention to every detail is incredible, from the locally sourced food, to the facilities and cocktail bar. Will be coming back !

What a wildly terrible and unprofessional experience. The trouble started on night two of our planned four-night stay. I asked the owner where I could dispose of a pizza box from the night before. I couldn't find a large enough bin. She was visibly angry that I would ask such a question but agreed to take the box. I then asked for a wine opener, which angered her even further. She told me I'd need to take the bottle to the restaurant. I laughed it off and went back to our room.

My wife and I then fixed a snack for our 3-year-old. Simple stuff, fruit, cheese, bread. I took it outside to a small courtyard outside of our room. The owner saw me and hurried over. At first, I thought she was going to apologize for her bizarre behavior over the pizza box and wine key. Instead, she exploded on me because of our child's snacks. She told me allowing him to eat outside was quote "offensive to the restaurant guests!" This was ludicrous, as the restaurant guests couldn't see us. Also, who would be offended by a 3 year old eating cherries? I then pointed out there were ants in the room (hence the need to get rid of the pizza box) and it didn't seem like a good idea allowing a toddler to eat in there. This only enhanced her rage. She stormed up the stairs after me and shrieked "If you're unhappy with the accommodations you can leave!!!" My wife and I took that as a threat.

Following her tantrum, the owner's husband continually walked past our room, staring up at my while I stood outside. We spent the evening looking for a new place, assuming we were either getting evicted or the owner's husband was about to cause trouble. We just had to make it through the night. That, however, was no easy task. The hotel had a terrible band playing American cover songs all night. The bar was supposed to close at 9:00 but the horrendous music went on until 11:30. No one, including our toddler, could sleep until they ended.

We found a new place and got the hell out of there first thing in the morning. The owner still charged us for two more nights despite her threats and her husband's stalking. If you look closely at the other hotel reviews, you'll find at least one other family that had a similar experience. You'll also notice the owner blames the guests whenever they get a bad review, sometimes making baseless allegations to discredit them. Don't believe a word she says if she responds to this.

Finally, I don't now how this place has a 4 star rating. The services are limited, the rooms are cute but hot, noisy and infested with ants. Maybe things are different in rural France but this was a clear step or two down from any 4 star place I've stayed anywhere in the world.

In the opening "Welcome" paragraph on La Huppe's website they speak of hospitality and the best of services - my husband and I did not receive those services. In checking in to our room after a long drive from Nice' we were told of the do's and don'ts from the owner- didn't feel very welcoming. We freshened up quickly as we were thirsty and wanted a nice drink at the bar - after waiting a while we went looking for someone to serve us - 15-20 minutes later we received our drinks. We were told that the restaurant was full but then told by another staff worker that the restaurant was not full that one of the chefs was ill and they would not take any more reservations. We would have loved just having a charcuterie plate with some bread, staying in the gardens drinking wine but we were told NO and were directed to restaurants in Gordes 1.8 miles away. We came home after a nice dinner in Gordes hoping for a night cap in the gardens- there was no one at the bar again so we opened up our own bottle of wine that we had bought earlier in the day and served ourselves. Our room - The Provencale was adequate in size but the bath was very dated with broken tiles and the commode was in disrepair. We woke and went to breakfast in the dining room-it was cheeses, muffins, breads and when we asked for some cooked eggs we were told no. The pool and landscape were as described and lovely but we just didn't feel the service again in the morning. My husband and I were booked for another night but decided to leave a day early for our next destination. We of course were told we had to pay for the night - which we knew would be the case - either way we knew a better destination was for us. We spent 3 weeks in the South of France - cannot say anything bad about the 4 other places we stayed - don't like writing bad reviews we both felt it necessary to do so.
