Don't go there, ever.
-The octopus salad we have ordered was horrible- old and difficult to eat octopus ...
- we have had to wait for the main dish to arrive 1 hour and 45 minutes after the order was
given. (Most of us didn't order any other food before the main dish). This is probably due to the fact they have only one person in the kitchen, who honestly doesn't know how to cook.
- when finally the main dish was ready, the only waitress by mistake had served several of the dishes to our table, and several dishes to another table ( which had ordered after us). After we have asked why she had started to serve other table before bringing everything which we have ordered, the waitress sait it was mistake and she took the dishes from the other table and brought them to us. The other people had been offended (they also had waited approxinately an hour and a half. ), and so the other people had left the restaurant.
- when the food had arrived, the fish was not cooked, it was semy - raw. The vegetables and the sauce ayoli been too salty, and 70% of the mussels served had been just empty shells ..
- we have seen another table with guests who had been very angry for something and had left the restaurant with a scandal.
I can probably continue with more details but you don't really need them. It was horrible service, horrible kitchen as quality and speed of cooking, the only good thing there was the wine served.
Worst restaurant in south of France I have ever seen.

An excellent time at L’Escale du Sud in Hyères! The mussels and fries were delicious, perfectly seasoned and generously served. The place is calm and charming, ideal for a peaceful meal. Special mention for the service, which was very pleasant and attentive from start to finish. I highly recommend!

Very nice discovery, after having turned to the port of Hyères in search of a restaurant, our choice fell on the Escale du Sud, which was good for us. Mussels with a good proportion of homemade Roquefort sauce, delicately spiced Reunion-style stuffed squid, all accompanied by homemade fries cooked in beef fat. We finished with a homemade pastry flan and... A generously proportioned mega rum baba which was excellent.
Ok, this place doesn't look like much but it's a gem.
I highly recommend.

After having suffered several refusals in other restaurants after the fireworks we were well received, the waiter was great but the meat was requested at the right time and received blue, so left and came back burnt, the Roquefort sauce was good but is in addition of 5€ not specified on the menu! So for a meat at 20€ we paid 25€ with the sauce.. For the mussels in large quantities but cold for the most part. Luckily the fries and curry sauce were good.
We will not come back.

Salmon gravlax with citrus fruit, cream of chives and Timut pepper; slow-cooked lamb, a gutsy jus, cream of sweetcorn and roast winter squash… The generous, seriously Provençal score of Pascal and Nadège Bonamy has made their restaurant, at the foot of the Maurettes range, one of the region’s gourmet beacons.
